Tour of the OSU Stadium
On May 22, 2001 the local chapter of the American Concrete Institute provided a tour of the still under construction Ohio State University Football Stadium. Several from Anderson Concrete (the main supplier of concrete for the project) were in attendance.
Looking at the 17,000 new seats at the south end of the stadium. West side of the stadium and the new media area on the top, with the 50 new luxury boxes just below.
East side of the stadium. The field has been sunken 14' and is now 6' below the water table! Water pumps have been installed and are able to either remove water from the field or supply water to the field (which is real turf with an artificial base) An inside view, showing just how construction is left to finish.
Several of the Anderson employees are visible here. Looking down onto the field from just below the luxury boxes.
A view from one of the luxury boxes ($50,000 per year!!) Anderson Concrete Field Technician Dane Jahn - he's been on the stadium job since before day one.
Who said I couldn't fit in a locker? Photos of some of OSU football greats in the Recruiting Room - an area where new recruits and their family are entertained, It is just adjacent to the locker room.
A couple of prospects?! Chad Higginbotham and Brian Williams. OSU's new football coach.
